hmm probably he has injury on his left arm? i thought for gyaku chundan / jodan, there must be reverse footwork as well to balance the body.. but this guy uses normal footwork in gyaku jodan....

Would it be because he is right-handed that why he use gyaku jodan?

Has anyone seen gyaku jodan in action before? It seems a bit weird to me as the kendoka is holding the shinai with right hand at the bottom instead of the left.
