RIP Dr. Gordon Warner
Dr. Gordon Warner, an American who has done much to promote Kendo overseas has passed away on the 4th of March 2010. He was born on 24th October 1912.
Truly a great kendoka, many still do not realise the contributions he made to promote kendo to the world. He was even awarded a medal by the Emperor of Japan in 2010 for bringing back kendo to Japan after it was banned by General MacArthur (World War 2). He was constantly doing suburi even on a wheelchair.
The bio of this great kendoka can be read here: http://kenshi247.net/blog/2009/08/07/gordon-warner/
