Oh, if that's the case, all the better for me I guess, the longer it takes to get to 7kyu, the longer for me to buy
the Bogu =D

If it takes half year from non-Bogu to Bogu class, then I don't need to worry about the Bogu now then, I will just join in and see how it goes =D
I will email Mr Yap for the visiting pass.
Thanks again!

Re: Question about Bogu
At the very least, 6 months with constant practice and full attention in class ^^ Do make sure that you let Mr Yap know of your intention to visit. You may want to ask him if the club is still renting out bogu as well.

Re: Question about Bogu
Hi Elessar,
Oh, ok, I think it will best take a tour as guest to visit the Dojo and ask Mr Yap about the Armor and stuff then.
Normally, how long it takes for a newbie to get to 7kyu?

Re: Question about Bogu
You may want to check out www.kendoshop.com and also www.onlinekendo.com in the future once you have obtained your 7kyu. Do keep in mind that bogu is there for your protection and you get what you pay for. So if you are going to get really cheap bogu, don't expect it to function or last as long like the ones that other people pay extra for.
There is also an option to get it from the dojo itself. RM1k is the cheapest if the offer is still valid.
Bogu does not come in free sizes. Every part is selected to fit your own body measurements. Therefore you literally have to measure you head, hand, waist circumference etc etc. (Check these requirements from those online vendors).

Thanks for the info izzaz,
I will check out those website, but does Bogu comes with free size? or depends on heights and weight?

Not sure If i posted in the correct section or not, but here's my question.
I have emailed Mr Yap, and he have told me everything, but the thing is that Bogu costs RM2500 is way out of my budget
I just wanna know that is there any Used Bogu for sell?
Or any other way to get a cheaper Bogu?
{This topic was moved from Kendo Talk}
Hi Vince, I've done a bit of research for you, and e-bogu sells quite cheap standard bogu. http://www.e-bogu.com/SearchResults.asp
I also checked Miyako Kendogu, but they're around RM2000.... but they're good quality, from the looks of it. http://www.kendo-bogu.com/category_s/34.htm
There's also tozando.com, http://www.tozandoshop.com/SearchResults.asp
Some of them are around RM1400.
When browsing for bogu online try to aim for the machine-stitched ones, they're cheaper than handmade ones. Also try to look for some promotions if you can find them. Delivery charges might also differ.
Also, if anyone has a second hand bogu to sell, please inform Vinc3 by replying at this post :-)
