Re: Kendo Bogu, Iaido, Kyudo and other Japanese Equipment
well the last time i sent an iaito sword into malaysia, was for my brother and it arrived in 4 days.No problems at all from the customs.I sent it with EMS and it is secured and safe. Also sent a complete set of bogu to my brother too. it was my old kendo set. Men, Kote, Tare and Do.That also arrived in 4 days.No problem there too.You see the shop that i go to here send stuff all over the world. They also make their own hakama and gi.They have all kinds of material. So that is why i thought that i can do some business for them.As they don't speak any english at all, i want to help them to sell worldwide. As for tozaido, ebogu and the other online sites, they havve many kinds of materials.I am yet to look at the materials and other equipment this saturday.I will take some photos then. And yes i would like help in making the website. So please recomend me to people of the craft.
Now going back to the swords. An alloy sword is light and easy to use.But in time the sword would bend as the metal is not that strong .As for the carbon steel ones.Of course these beautiful pieces of metal are almost like the real katanas. They are more stronger and will not bend in time. They are the best to use.But for beginners, they should get the alloy ones, so they can get used to the weight and feel of using the sword.Once you know the way to use them and get better ( maybe at nidann or higher) you probly want to get the carbon steel ones. As for myself, i got the carbon steel iaito sword from a pal as a present. But ended up buying an alloy one.I needed to understand how to swing and breathe. The carbon steel ones were a bit to heavy to use for beginners. The alloy ones were so much easier to handle. But now, i use them both.Carbon steel to practice at home and the alloy one for the dojo.In my video on youtube, i was using the alloy one.

have a look at that and plese comment and rate it.It was my first time.
I hope that what i have typed in is okay. Please get back tto me about the website builders.
Live long in peace !!!

how you bring the katana into Malaysia from Japan
Hi bigbadboysjp, can you explain how you bring the katana into Malaysia from Japan? Do we need to get any special permission/approval to bring it in? It was strange that our custom didn't control on this as last time i heard someone order the men into malaysia also get block by custom.
And if i just want to buy a katana to swing for fun :>, buying alloy will be enough? Any difference in term of weight/feel compare to carbon steel? I just want to buy a katana to swing for fun but not to do any cutting as no sensei teach.....
And if you want people help to setup Homepage maybe i can intro freelancer if u want.

Ok I will try to set one up. It's kinda difficult to do it here in japan.
But I won't give up. Just need to find the time to do it.
Busy with work but next month I will have time.
I might set up a temp hp soon. Will let you guys know soon.

thanks for your reply.Yeah it will be a bit more than usd200 for a carbon steel. It will cost.My shop has one but im sorry to say that the price is expensive.More than usd200.Well if you a reasonable iaito sword for beginners, than you should get an alloy one.Im sorry to dissapint you.I could get one to you with shipping for usd 400.But that is way over your budget.
Please let me know what you would like to do.If you email to me at bigbadboysjp@yahoo.co.jp then i can send you pictures of it.I am sorry that i dont have a homepage out.I am just doing this as a side business. But i will have one up and running soon. Then i can put up photos and prices including shipping.
Let me know if you would like to see the pictures of the iaito.

If I get it from Paul Chen's Cheness, it'll be about USD 200 (excluding shipping charges). I'm looking for a reasonable iaito (preferably carbon steel, but doubt it is available in Japan; mostly are alloy) for beginner around this figure.

Iaito can pass through Malaysian Customs or not? Another thing, is there a carbon steel iaito in Japan.. I'm looking for size 3.5 shaku (~28") blade length. Thanks.
