The picture you see was taken at the Meiji Shrine Embu before the All Japan Kendo Championships in 2008. It shows one of the school's katas of the long sword against the naginata (halberd). The school has many other katas, but always in those katas one person would be wielding a long sword (daito). Some of those katas include the short sword (shoto), the spear, the bo staff, and two sword (nito) kata.

I'm around 179-180cm for height, and size is kinda slim.

I went through a website www.OnlineKendo.com and saw their charts:-

http://www.onlinekendo.com/faq_view.php?id=27&title=Kendo_Uniform_%28Gi_and_Hakama%29_Size_Chart

but I still dunno how to determine which size is suitable for me

Can anyone please give some advice on this?

thanks a bunch!

Jigen-ryū (示現流 lit: revealed reality) is a traditional school (koryū) of Japanese martial arts founded in the late 16th century by Togo Chui (1561-1643) in Satsuma Province, now Kagoshima prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. It focuses mainly on the art of swordsmanship. The two different characters for gen (現/顕) are variants with the same meaning: "reality". This school is famous in Japan for its use of uncut wooden weapons and distinctive kiai.

I'm currently looking for a Dojo around Setapak area, hopefully able to find a Dojo near Wangsa Maju or Taman Melati or Jalan Genting-Klang. Please provide me any information about the nearest Dojo in this area. Thank you very much.
