If it was free, I would've become a member too.
About the 'spa' thing.... I am not sure if there is one there or not hahaha. I thought I saw one but then again, it's all in Japanese. So I wouldn't be surprised if I assumed wrongly

What Izzaz and Hinagiku_3 said earlier is partially complete. ^^
In my attempt to answer your question, I'll break it into two parts. Firstly, the fees. It depends very much on whether you are a student or a working adult.
Student:
Monthly fees: RM5/month
MKA registration fee: RM30 (one time)
Insurance fee (subject to changes): RM17/annually (approximation)
Security Pass: RM30/annually
Working Adults:
Monthly fees: RM10/month
MKA registration fee: RM30 (one time)
Insurance fee (subject to changes): RM17/annually (approximation)
*JCKL membership: RM50/month (individual membership) or RM60/month (family membership)
*JCKL membership application fee: RM100++ - (one time payment)
*JCKL membership deposit: RM300 (if I remembered correctly) - (one time payment & refundable)
*Note that this values may differ as I am not a JCKL member.
So, now you will ask... "What is the difference between being a JCKL member and a non-JCKL member in Kendo?"
JCKL members are allowed to use ALL the facilities in the club (including restaurants, shops, saloons, spa?, and the priviledge to join other clubs in JCKL). You are also allowed to bring in guests. Non-JCKL members, on the other hand, only possess the security pass which enables them to enter the club and use the hall where Kendo trainings are held. We are not allowed to roam the club, enjoy their restaurants, buy anything from their shop etc. MOST importantly, we are not allowed to bring guests (including parents and siblings) into the club.
For obvious reasons, the security pass is reserved for students only (school students, university students alike). However, if you can afford to join as a JCKL member (which you will have to eventually), you are highly encouraged to as well. There are two kinds of JCKl membership, as stated above. Individual memberships are self explanatory while family memberships is applicable if you are married with kids (not parents and siblings).

Second part of your question.
You may want to ask Mr Yap if you can join on August but there is a very very VERY low chance that you will be able to do so as latecomers will affect the flow of the class and you will be struggling to catch up with the rest of the new students. So, it is up to you if you want to join the coming intake in July (provided if you have already contacted Mr Yap and your name is already in the waiting list) or wait for the next intake which would probably be in January next year.
Then again, there is a chance that there will be another intake smacked in between the period from July to January but I wouldn't put too much hope on it if I were you ^__^ Once again, Mr Yap would know best.

JCKL is just the place that we train. Its not the body that governs our Kendo in Malaysia. The group that we kendo practitioners join is MKA, or Malaysia Kendo Association.
Adults (working people) must join JCKL as a member before being allowed to train Kendo, as MKA is using JCKL facilities. But for students, a kendo pass can be applied, allowing u to train kendo and only kendo, and not use the other facilities.

You can find all the information on our training schedule here. When you begin your training in kendo, you will fall under the category of "non-bogu practitioners" meaning that you don't have armour (bogu). You will remain in that category until you have passed your first grading and obtained 7kyu, that is, the minimal rank at which you will be allowed to use armour. You will then be categorised as "bogu practitioners".
In other words....
Non-bogu = Non-bogu sessions.
Bogu = Bogu sessions.

Welcome to MK.net!!
Since you are staying in Kajang, the nearest dojo to you will be the one in JCKL. The next intake would be in July so you might want to contact Mr Yap ASAP ^^ You can find his email address in the "Training Schedule" post under the JCKL dojo section.
