Re: Any Dojo in Miri, Sarawak.
Personally, I think there's no ceiling price. They're just pre-rating the cost of the place they're going to lease against the number of people they THINK will join. Problems they face:
1) Do they have sensei over there?
2) Do they have a steady and sustainable base of students?
Everyone wants to learn kendo after watching Ninja, Ninja Assassin, and reruns of The Last Samurai/Kingdom of Heaven on Star Movies/HBO. How long do you think they will last after they find out it's not like The Last Samurai or Ninja Assassin?
In any case, I don't think it's going to take off. The originator of the thread posted once, and then never replied his PM, msgs or returned to post again.

Izzaz...our sides are that cheap because we have the volume of people to help with rental. Shouldn't judge UNLESS he's charging RM300 and above.

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in learning Kendo. Yes, Kendo is Japanese fencing. As for the time being, we were having a break and have yet to start the training yet. There is no training fee, but we gonna pay for the lease of the venue for training. Each person will cost RM 124, per month.
And the only thing which you need to buy is the shinai (bamboo sword), which cost around USD 30-50, depending on the quality. I would suggest you guys how and where to shop for the shinai during our first training. So, dont worry about that just yet.
What I need from you right now is your name your mobile phone number and email (If you are really interested to join us). Then I would constantly contact you for the upcoming activities or announcements.
Thank you.

That is VERY VERY expensive , RM124 just to learn Kendo. Normally its around 5-10 bucks. I thought it was shinai included, but its not.
But then, maybe he's charging so much cos of place rental as well..... maybe first time only expensive... but then.... he said RM124 per month.... walao
